Our Approach
At Heart and Hand, you'll quickly realize that we are not your average chiropractic office. We have created a welcoming, inviting, organic space that allows you to truly unwind and encourages natural healing from within the body.
Our approach to every patient is rooted in a deep understanding of the neurology of the body and its role in overall healing and lifelong wellness. Our goal is to reduce stress-related interference that your body may be holding on to, allowing it to function at its highest capacity.
Stress is at an all-time high. The body can enter a state of dis-ease when its ability to heal is disrupted, whether from our own thoughts, toxins from the outside world, or past traumatic events the body has held on to. All of these can create disruption and interference in the brain-body connection.
Through chiropractic care rooted in the nervous system, we can alleviate these disruptions, allow the body to function at an optimal state, and promote self-healing.
Meet Dr. Lena Broadwater, DC
Dr. Lena's passion for caring for children and expectant mothers has been at the heart of her chiropractic journey from the beginning. While attending Logan University, she became certified in the Webster Technique through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and pursued additional certification and training in pediatric chiropractic care.
Following graduation, Dr. Lena moved to Bay City, Michigan, where she practiced in the area's largest pediatric chiropractic clinic. There, she received extensive training in pediatric care, neuro-intensive chiropractic care, and family wellness, working with children and families through many different stages of life.
After more than a year in Michigan, Dr. Lena returned to Missouri to continue practicing while further expanding her education. She worked alongside Dr. Beth Becherer, a chiropractor and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, in a high-volume corrective care practice serving families across three locations. This experience provided Dr. Lena with extensive hands-on training in spinal correction, X-ray analysis, patient education, and scoliosis care.
Through her work with mothers, babies, children, and families, Dr. Lena developed a unique perspective on the connection between chiropractic care, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, infant development, and lifelong wellness.
These experiences have shaped the compassionate, results-focused, and family-centered approach Dr. Lena now brings to Heart and Hand Chiropractic and the families she serves throughout the Murfreesboro and Middle Tennessee community.
Meet Matt Broadwater
Matt Broadwater's path to chiropractic began with a lifelong interest in health, movement, and the incredible capabilities of the human body. Growing up in Southern California, much of his childhood was spent playing baseball and traveling for the sport, eventually taking him to Lexington, Kentucky, where he played collegiately while earning his bachelor's degree in Health and Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology.
Following graduation, Matt moved to St. Louis, Missouri, to attend Logan University and is currently completing his preceptorship in Franklin, Tennessee. He will graduate in April with his Doctor of Chiropractic degree before joining his wife, Dr. Lena, at Heart and Hand Chiropractic.
Matt was drawn to chiropractic because of its hands-on approach and the important role the nervous system plays in how the body functions. His philosophy of care is rooted in his belief that the human body is an incredible gift, designed by God with a remarkable ability to adapt, heal, and function when properly supported.
During his time at Logan, Matt's understanding of family-centered chiropractic care became even more personal. He met Dr. Lena, welcomed their first son, and experienced firsthand the impact of nervous system-focused chiropractic care. These experiences strengthened his desire to help individuals and families better understand their bodies and take an active role in their health and wellness.
Matt approaches patient care with a simple philosophy: “Exceed the standard or don't do the job.” Whether caring for an athlete, parent, child, or someone simply looking to feel and function at their best, he is committed to providing thoughtful, individualized care and an exceptional experience. He looks forward to joining Dr. Lena at Heart and Hand Chiropractic and bringing that same compassionate, results-focused, family-centered approach to families throughout Murfreesboro and Middle Tennessee.
